Even the most indoorsy dogs need some nature now and then.

Treat your bestie to a roll in the grass or a splash in the saltwater at these dog-friendly beaches and dog parks in Perth.

The perfect place to meet some furry friends and get their “zoomies” out, Perth has dog parks and beaches to keep both dog and hooman happy.

Pack a picnic and your pupper’s favourite ball, because we’ve got your weekend plans sorted.

Peasholm Street Dog Beach – Scarborough

This is one of the most popular dog-friendly beaches in Perth, and for good reason. Peasholm Street Dog Beach offers a generous 2km stretch of white sand for running, rolling, digging, and more. There’s plenty of space for doggos of all sizes to frolic about, and due to its popularity, you’re guaranteed to run into some new butts to sniff (for your dog, of course).

The clear water is generally shallow for quite a way out, making it perfect for splashing about with floating toys. And because it’s human-friendly too, you can swim with your mate if you feel like a dip.

Here you’ll find a toilet block, doggy bags and bins, freshwater taps for drinking, and even a hose for rinsing the sand off your pooch before jumping back in the car. There’s also usually a dog wash service on summer weekends.

Aveley Adventure Dog Park – Aveley

Featuring two separate fenced areas for small and large dogs, the Aveley Adventure Dog Park within Central Park is the ultimate spot for off-leash exercise.

Both the small and large dog zones feature fun agility equipment where your clever canine can show off their skills. They also have seating, doggy bags and bins, and water fountains for humans and dogs alike.

If you feel like taking an on-leash stroll, there’s a walking path that goes right around the lake of Central Park. And if you want to make a day of it, you’ll find a BBQ and picnic shelter just outside the dog park.

South Beach – Fremantle

Is your water baby not a big fan of big waves? South Beach in Fremantle is a great spot for a relaxing paddle with your pooch in gentle turquoise waters.

Here your four-legged fur child will have plenty of freedom to run carefree with the sand beneath their paws. Doggy bags and bins are strategically placed to make it easy to clean up after your dog.

There’s also a large grassed park behind the beach for a good roll around, as well as a couple of great dog-friendly cafés if you’re feeling peckish.

Jack Marks Park – Highgate

Another popular off-lead dog park in Perth, Jack Marks Park is a top spot for small to medium dogs, as its fencing is just 1m high.

With its beautifully manicured lawn, park benches, and shady trees, this charming park is a favourite to local dog-lovers. It even has a community dog toy box, giving your pupper hours of entertainment becoming acquainted with new playthings.

And if you’ve got kids, the fenced playground will keep them entertained and out of dogs’ reach.

There are also doggy bags and bins, and a water fountain with attached pet bowl.
