Swan River Windan Bridge Loop

Cruise along the banks of the stunning Swan River on this easy 3km bike trail in the centre of the city. The Swan River Windan Bridge Loop takes you past Herrison Island, the Burswood golf course, and East Perth. Here you can dismount for a sticky-beak at some of the public art galleries, or grab your morning brew at a hip local café. Keep an eye out for native birds and the odd river dolphin or bull shark.

This scenic trail is the perfect way to take in the scenic landscape and local fare, including mountains, wineries, microbreweries, fruit stalls, and cafés. And don’t worry if you don’t have a bike – just call the Swan Valley Visitor Centre to find a local bike hire company.

Rottnest Island

Craving a coastal view with your 2-wheeled adventure? Rottnest Island is home to one of our favourite cycle paths in Perth. The 25km island loop consists of hilly sand dunes and can be cycled in a few hours, making it suitable for more experienced riders (or at least those who consider themselves somewhat fit). But the tough pedalling is well worth it once you turn your attention to the beautiful turquoise water. Pack your swimsuit and reward yourself with a dip at one of the 63 sandy beaches once you’re done.

This leisurely ride takes you past Hillarys Boat Harbour (a great pit stop for a coffee or some fresh fish and chips) and Marmion Marine Park, offering picturesque greenery and coastal views as far as the eye can see.
